Part Information
Ice maker AEQ73130004 includes the ice mold and the control device. The ice maker receives water from the water inlet valve and then holds the water in the ice mold until the water freezes solid. It then automatically ejects the ice and refills to continue the process until the ice storage bin is full.
Safely store any food that could deteriorate while the power is off and unplug the refrigerator when installing this part. Wear work gloves to protect your hands.

I have to buy this part to fit the ice machine
The ice machine works good until it quits. We bought a new part in February. Then that one went bad in 6 months! We thought it had a guarantee for a year but was told it was only for 90 days! If I have to keep buying the part every 6 months then maybe I should get a different refrigerator.

Great part customer service is lacking
The ice maker was exactly what I expected. Said it would be delivered by a specific date and wasn't shipped until the night before. Arrived 2 days late.

Part Worked, No Install Direction
I installed the icemaker and it is making ice. However, no installation directions were insluded with the icemaker, and Sears Parts Direct had no relevant videos on its website. I tried chatting with a live agent, but they could not direct me to any posted directions on the website. I eventually had to go to YouTube to find a video of a similar, but not exact, icemaker installation. Part was great, support not so great.

Got it done!
We did manage to get it installed and working. However, many of the illustrations I printed on-line beforehand to see how difficult self installation would be did not match the printed instructions that came with the ice-maker. And the printed instructions showed pictures that did not match how our freezer actually looked. It took more than 20 minutes to install-----closer to 40 or 45 minutes. But we would have had to wait almost a month to schedule the installation, plus I'm sure the service charge would have been substantial. But as I said, we got it done!
