Whirlpool EveryDrop water filter (part number EDR1RXD1) has NSF certifications 42, 53 and 401; it reduces lead and other metals; chlorine taste and odor; volatile organic compounds (VOCs); and some pesticides and pharmaceuticals.
EveryDrop water filter EDR1RXD1 fits select Kenmore, Whirlpool, Amana, Ikea, JennAir, KitchenAid and Maytag top-freezer, side-by-side refrigerators and bottom-freezer refrigerators.
Replace every 6 months, or more often if water flow slows noticeably.
Follow the package instructions when you install this water filter.

Lasts 2 weeks most of the time, $$ wasted
I am extremely livid about the quality of this filter. We have yet to get this filter last beyond a month. We had to hire a repairman because we were certain that there must be certain wrong with the fridge, but nope, it's the filter.

A little Leary to recommend
The water filter kept popping out, caused water to back up and it leaked into the finished room in my basement underneath, have stained on a few of the ceiling tiles. Need to replace them. I'm going to try the other brand now

Defective Water Filter
Not long after we installed this filter, the water dispenser failed. Soon after that, the ice maker also stopped working. I just received new filters and the water dispenser immediately started dispensing water. However the ice maker has not dispensed ice yet.

Not worth the money, I do not recommend!
These filters do not last but just a couple of months before the water pressure begins to trickle. The trickle is little enough that it makes hollow ice cubs and they are so light the ice maker won't dump them out, sobthey stick & cause an ice jam in the ice maker . We have gone through 3 in less than a year now. For the price, these filter should last longer than 3 months time. Corporate America don't care about the little guys who are lining their pockets. I do not recommend this product.

doesn't work
I bought a set of 2. The first one lasted about 4 months before water slowed to a trickle. I replaced it with the 2nd brand new one and now water doesn't even come out. Given all these other poor reviews, something has to be wrong with these filters??

Defective filters
I received a filter that did not work. No water flow besides the occasional trickle. I emailed customer service and received a replacement with the same problem. The old filter works fine and there's a strong water flow from under fridge without filter in place. The problem is defective filters!
