Exact fit, great instructional videos

This heating element was the exact fit to the OEM one I removed. I won't say installation was easy, because it was quite involved, but the step-by-step videos available made it possible to do in a few hours with minimal headaches. The "secret screw" hidden in the back of the unit with only 2" clearance was very tricky to extract, but an offset screwdriver eventually did the trick.

Easy to install

It was easy to install. Back screw a little tricky because of the angle. But otherwise easy.

Great part

So far, this part is great. It was the second time I have replaced the heating element, the first one I bought from another site and of lesser quality (& price) only lasted a year.

If you are reasonably handy you can tackle this!

I installed is in our Model #41781100000 Kenmore Elite dryer. You've got to go deep into the unit but all I needed was a No. 2 Phillips Screwdriver, a pair of side cutter pliers, and a small pick to remove the plastic cable clamp for the door switch. You'll also need a small zip tie for the humidity sensor and control panel cables where they pass back to the brain and electrical tape to band some of the wires back together. I also used my multimeter to verify the heating element was open to ground and the thermo switch on the exhaust duct was working. I replaced both thermo switches mounted to the heating element (belt & suspenders). Don’t fret if the drum sounds a bit noisy until the felt seals find their new running positions, ours quieted back down after a couple of loads. Just make sure you pay attentions to how the idler pulley and spring is fitted and drive belt is correctly routed.
