Work area safety advice to follow when using your Craftsman polisher

  • Keep your work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas can invite accidents.
  • Ventilate the work area to prevent breathing problems when using the polisher.
  • Don't operate the polisher in explosive atmospheres such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gasses or dust. Polishers create sparks which can ignite dust or fumes.
  • Keep children and bystanders away from the work area while using the polisher. Distractions can cause you to lose control of the polisher.

Maintenance tips for your Craftsman polisher

  • Clean the polisher after every use. Blow dirt and just out of all air vents using dry compressed air. Wear proper eye protection and respiratory protection when cleaning the polisher.
  • Lubricate the bearings every six months. You may need to lubricate bearings more often if you use the polisher for heavy-duty jobs or you use the polisher daily.
  • Inspect the carbon motor brushes regularly. Keep brushes clean and replace the carbon brushes when they reach the wear line.
