How to maintain your Craftsman belt & disc sander

  • Thoroughly clean the sander after each use. Blow dust and grit out of the motor housing using compressed air. Clean the entire exterior of the sander with a damp cloth. Don't immerse any part of the sander in water or liquid to clean the tool.
  • Follow the guidelines in the owner's manual to properly lubricate the sander
  • Before each use, check all fasteners on the sander. Tighten any loose fasteners.
  • Inspect the sander for worn or broken parts regularly. Replace any worn or broken parts before using the sander.

Work area safety guidelines to follow when using your Craftsman belt & disc sander

  • Keep the work area clean and well lit because cluttered or dark areas can cause accidents.
  • Don't operate your sander in explosive atmospheres such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. The sander can produce sparks that may ignite dust or fumes.
  • Keep children and bystanders clear of the work area when operating the sander. Distractions can cause you to lose control of the sander.
