Kenmore water filter (part number 9084) has NSF 42, 53 and 401 certifications. It reduces lead and other metals; chlorine taste and odor; volatile organic compounds (VOCs); and some pesticides and pharmaceuticals.
Water filter 9084 fits select Kenmore side-by-side and bottom-freezer refrigerators.
Replace every 6 months, or more often if water flow slows noticeably.
Follow package instructions when you install this genuine Kenmore water filter.

I will buy this product again
Very easy to order and very easy to install. I will definitely reorder as long as I have a working refrigerator. I was able to remove the old one and replace the new one with out any problems. I did not have to call anyone.

Upset that Sears won't do water filter exchanges
My Whirlpool refrigerator I bought from Sears only 5 years ago died recently (compressor issue) I wanted to exchange the water filters that I bought thru their program that sends me 2 filters automatically each year for the Whirlpool. Now that I no longer have the Whirlpool, I have 2 water filters I can't use, due to their policy that won't do water filter exchanges. Disappointed…

Extremely hard to install
I like the filter and now have no choice now since the Whirlpool one has been discontinued. The problem is installation. It takes brut force strength to push hard enough to get it in and water leaks.

Does not work for me
The refrigerator filter part shipped is not what is pictured on the website. I thought I was getting the filter with the 8 small holes and I received one with 2 slits. I had previously tried one like this from a different vendor and only got a trickle of water. I am returning my unopened filter.
