Pricey part but less than a new freezer!
Probably over a year ago my Whirlpool upright freezer started switching itself to "fast freeze" mode no matter what I had it set on. This caused it to run all the time not only putting wear on the freezer but using too much electricity and causing the coils to ice over because the defroster couldn't compete with a freezer running in turbo mode. After three times emptying the contents of the freezer into coolers and thawing the coils with a blow dryer I decided to figure out what the problem was. If your freezer won't stay out of "fast freeze" mode, then you need a new control board. They are not cheap but it's what you need. I finally bit the bullet and bought one and my freezer is running perfectly. Sears Parts Direct was the best price online I could find and the Honey app found a coupon which made it a bit better. Their communication wasn't that great but I got the part in about a week. You will not get the complete enclosure on the illustration but the small circuit board that goes inside. It's an easy replacement requiring just a phillips screwdriver. Just pull the plug on the freezer, don't bother emptying the freezer, just remove the two screws holding the control panel on and the new board just snaps in. Super easy fix and I should have done it a long time ago.

Freezer Control Assembly
This item was not as described or pictured. I was expecting a full control assembly as it was pictured but all I received was the small control board. Your description and picture were misleading and false. I was expecting the whole assembly for the price I paid. Very disappointed.

Fixed my issue.
My freezer wasn't allowing me to change the temerature and was having trouble getting cold enough. After testing, the control board was suspected. Installed this new one in about 10 minutes and it looks like my problem has been fixed. For what it is the price is higher than I would like to see, but I guess cheaper than a new freezer. Time will tell if this one lastes. That original lasted about 7 years.

Easy to install
I replaced the interface and sensor. Both were easy to do yourself. The only issue was the time for the interface to show up due to being back ordered. The freezer works great again without the cost estimate fro a repair man. Did it myself for just cost of parts.

So Far So Good
Very similar to other reviews here. Pretty easy to install and so far appears to be doing the job after a few days. Was having the similar issue that freezer was around 4 years old and wasn't defrosting appropriately. Part was listed as backordered but fortunately received it exactly on the estimated ship date, which was just 3 weeks after I placed the order.
