Simple job, but should have been easier

The job was simple, only 4 carriage bolts hold the bar in place. But I my case, the nuts were badly worn from dragging on the ground and I had to grind them down to get them off without damaging the sheet metal of the housing. It too k about 45 minutes to grind off three nuts. One other point. These parts are way overpriced. The carriage bolts were almost $3.00 each for a bolt that cost 19 cents at Home Depot. The scraper bar, just a flat piece of metal 24' wide nearly $40 and the height adjusting skids, a stamped piece of metal that absorbs the wear of rubbing on the ground $33 each, so $66 as there are two.
