Whirlpool Laundry Center WGT3300XQ0 FAQs

To run dry only on your Whirlpool WGT3300XQ0 laundry center, use the dryer controls only: load the dryer, select a dryer cycle (usually Timed drying for “dry only”), set temperature, then press and hold PUSH TO START. The washer controls do not need to be set.

Steps to run “dry only” (dryer by itself)
  • Clean the lint screen before every load.
  • Load the dryer and close the door completely.
  • Turn the Dryer cycle knob to a drying cycle:
    • Timed drying: runs for the time you select (best match for “dry only”).
    • Automatic dry: shuts off when the load reaches the selected dryness level.
  • Set the End of cycle signal (On or Off), if your model has that knob.
  • Press and hold PUSH TO START to begin.
If you are seeing “spin” time, here is what is happening

On the WGT3300XQ0, the washer and dryer are separate systems. If you start a washer cycle, the washer may spin near the end of the wash cycle, but that is not part of “dry only.” For drying without washing, do not pull the washer cycle control knob.

Quick control check
What you want Washer control Dryer control
Dry only Off (do not start a wash cycle) Select Timed drying or Automatic dry, then PUSH TO START
Wash then dry Start washer cycle first Start dryer when ready
Why it matters

Using Timed drying when you want “dry only” prevents accidentally starting a wash cycle (and a final spin) and helps you control drying time for small loads, delicates, or items that need a short refresh.

The Whirlpool WGT3300XQ0 is a stacked laundry center with two separate appliances in one cabinet: a top-load washer on the bottom and a vented dryer on top. You wash in the washer, then move the load to the dryer and select a timed or heat cycle as shown in the WGT3300XQ0 owner's manual.

How a stacked laundry center differs from an “all-in-one” combo

Some Whirlpool “washer dryer combos” wash and dry in the same drum, but WGT3300XQ0 does not. It works like a traditional washer plus a traditional dryer, just stacked to save floor space.

Type Where clothes wash Where clothes dry Do you move the load?
WGT3300XQ0 stacked laundry center Washer tub (bottom) Dryer drum (top) Yes
All-in-one combo (single drum) Same drum Same drum No
Basic operating flow (what you do)
  • Load the washer, add detergent, close the lid, select a cycle, and start.
  • When the washer finishes, transfer clothes to the dryer.
  • Clean the lint screen before drying.
  • Select a heated dry cycle (not air-only) and start the dryer.
  • If the dryer is gas, make sure the gas shut-off valve is open.
Quick checks if the dryer will not start or will not heat

These checks match common setup and first-run steps in the WGT3300XQ0 installation guide.

  • Confirm the controls are set to an “On” or running position.
  • Press and hold the start control firmly (Push to Start models).
  • Make sure the dryer door is fully closed.
  • Verify power is connected; check household fuses or breakers.
  • For no-heat complaints, check that both dryer fuses or breakers (if used) are OK.
Why it matters

Knowing whether you have a stacked laundry center or a true all-in-one combo sets the right expectations for cycle time and workflow. With WGT3300XQ0, transfer time and venting/heat performance are a big part of how fast loads finish.

For symptom-based troubleshooting, we recommend starting with laundry center dryer won't heat or laundry center clothes still damp.

The Whirlpool WGT3300XQ0 stacked laundry center typically has a 2.5 cu. ft. washer and a 5.9 cu. ft. dryer capacity. Use the WGT3300XQ0 owner's manual to confirm the exact capacities listed for your unit’s configuration.

How to confirm capacity on your exact unit

We recommend verifying capacity using the model-specific literature and the rating label.

  • Check the specifications section in the WGT3300XQ0 owner's manual.
  • Look for the model and serial tag (often on the washer lid area or door frame area, depending on design).
  • Compare your model number exactly: WGT3300XQ0.
  • If you are comparing to another laundry center, confirm whether it is gas or electric, since dryer specs can vary by version.
What “capacity” means (washer vs. dryer)

Capacity is measured differently for each section of a laundry center.

Appliance section Capacity unit What it describes
Washer Cubic feet (cu. ft.) Tub volume for wash load size
Dryer Cubic feet (cu. ft.) Drum volume for drying load size
Why it matters

Knowing the washer and dryer capacity helps us match the right cycle expectations and troubleshoot performance issues like overloading, poor cleaning, long dry times, and clothes still damp.

  • A 2.5 cu. ft. washer is best loaded loosely, not packed.
  • A 5.9 cu. ft. dryer usually dries best when the drum is no more than about 2/3 full.
  • Overloading commonly leads to vibration, poor spin, and longer dry times.
