Troubleshooting common Haier washer issues
Even though Haier washers are known for their efficient performance, parts can eventually wear out. Understanding how to troubleshoot can help you find and fix the issue fast.
Washer won’t drain or spin
If your washer isn’t draining, start by checking for clogs or kinks in the drain hose or a backup in the house drain. If the hose is clear, replace the drain pump if it's not removing water. A faulty water-level pressure switch might also fail to sense water levels correctly. In top-load models, a failed lid switch or drive motor can keep the washer from advancing. If the washer is a front-loader, the issue could stem from the electronic control board or motor control board.
Washer won’t fill or fills slowly
Start by checking the water supply valves. If water is available but the washer still won’t fill, it may be time to replace the water inlet valve. This electrically operated valve opens when voltage is applied. If it’s faulty, water can’t get in.
Commonly replaced Haier washer parts
- Water inlet valve – Opens to let water into the tub. Swap it out if the washer doesn’t fill or water leaks in constantly.
- Drive motor – Powers the basket and agitator. Replace it if the motor hums but doesn’t turn.
- Water-level pressure switch – Senses the water level in the tub. If your washer won’t fill or overfills, the pressure switch may be malfunctioning.
- Drain pump – Removes water from the tub during drain cycles. A failed pump causes standing water in the drum.
- Lid switch – Prevents spin if the lid is open. In top-load washers, a bad switch can stop the washer mid-cycle.
