Part Information
Lawn mower clipping deflector 419942X428 is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) part that fits some lawn mowers in these series: Craftsman 917; Husqvarna 961, HU55 and HU7; and Poulan 961.
Clipping deflector 419942X428 directs the grass clippings away from the mower deck.
To install, lift the mulching cover then slide the two hooks of the clipping deflector under the mulching cover hinge pin.
Replaces original lawn mower clipping deflector parts 419942X418 and 532426129.

Flimsy and broke
Shipped pretty quickly but broke right away. Very flimsy made. This product should be made sturdier.

Easy to install
The deflector was an exact duplicate of the original. My mower is 9 years old and I'll guess the original plastic deflector tabs became brittle and they broke. Oh well I got 9 years out of it and I ordered a new one last month and the second time I mowed the yard the tabs broke! I couldn't believe it! My mower is in great shape so that's why I ordered a new deflector and rear skirt. Now I'm not sure if I'll order another deflector as maybe these things have been sitting on a shelf for a few years and are also brittle. I snagged a tree root last week and the darn thing popped off because the tabs broke. This was just a minor snag and the thing was lying on the ground. I was dismayed as to what even happened. Picked it up to put it back on and realized the tabs broke. The products were exact parts but I gave a one star for poor quality. On the plus side, I'm happy I was able to get replacement parts for a 9 year old mower.

I've been purchasing new parts to do repairs to my Craftsman Lawnmower & I am so thankful to have been able to find all of the parts that I've needed. I purchased two of the deflectors just in case I need a second one in the future.

Was given an old mower and needed a side deflector ..glad they still have older parts in stock ..well made OEM part ..did not get an email confirmation .. two day delivery turned into three ..over all good ..
