It's a clip! An expensive one!
I snapped it into place and WOW! I've seen clips clip before, but this one is the clippiest darn clip that ever clipped! The cliptacularity is reflected in the price.

No instructions - No way to install
This part broke off so I ordered a new one. The problem is that there's no way to know where it goes as it isn't shown attached in the diagrams. I spent an hour searching the internet trying to find a sample image. Then I contacted sears parts direct to ask for assistance. They sent me links to YouTube videos that were completely different parts. Not helpful. The part is still sitting on the counter.
