Attaching the electrode holder to the electrode cable on your Clarke welder

  • With the welder turned off, loosen the electrode holder's handle locking screw then slide the handle off the electrode holder.
  • Insert the end of the electrode cable through the handle.
  • Connect the stripped end of the electrode cable to the electrode holder and tighten the cable mounting screw firmly.
  • Slide the electrode holder handle back onto the electrode holder and tighten the handle locking screw.

Troubleshooting your Clarke welder when it won't power up

  • Check the circuit breaker for the power supply outlet that you're using for the welder. Reset the breaker if it's tripped.
  • If the welder still won't power up, unplug the power cord and check the power cord for damage. Replace the power cord if it's damaged.
  • Check the power cord wiring connections to the welder. Reconnect any loose power cord wires.
  • Check for continuity through the power switch using a multimeter. Replace the power switch if the meter measures infinite resistance through the power switch with the switch in the on position.
