Thankfully they designed this part of the refrigerator for easy maintenance. After removing the cardboard backing (7 screws), the old device (2 screws), electrical connections, and finally the water lines from the compression fittings, I trimmed the water lines just behind the 'dent' in the hose to ensure a tight fit in the new valve. I then reinstalled the lines and electrical. I would suggest doing a leak test before mounting the valve and backing.
