Surface element infinite switch 318191023 is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) part that fits some electric and dual-fuel slide-in and drop-in ranges in these series: Kenmore 790; Kenmore Elite 790; and Frigidaire BFES, CFES, CGLE, CPES, DGES, FES, FFES, GLES, LFES, PLES, FED, FFED and GLED.
Surface element infinite switch 318191023 controls a dual surface element. It turns on and off sections of the dual element and controls how much heat the element produces.
Unplug the range or shut off the house circuit breaker for the range before replacing this part. Wear work gloves to protect your hands.

Took 10 minutes to fix!
All I had to do was unscrew a few screws, unplug the old switch and reconnect the new switch exactly the same way. Inner element on front left burner workin perfectly now. Saved at least $150 in service call!

Easy to install after figuring out the wiring orde
We had to figure out the wiring reinstall because Kenmore had redesigned a new replacement part. I called the technician and they didn't have a clue. Finally figured it out myself.

Great service!
Easy to install! Only issue was that the indicator light turns on when I turn the nob to the right for one burner, but of rthe other burner when I turn to the eft the indcator light does not come on.

Not easy but not hard either
I watched a You Tube video first to get some pointers. The task took about 30 mins from start to finish. Make sure to pay close attention to how the wires are connected to the element infinite switch. I'm pretty sure I saved a couple of hundred dollars on someone coming to install the part.
