Bring the right tools!
The kit came with everything I needed, even though I THOUGHT there were too many parts! You need a 1/4" socket... and an assortment of open end wrenches (whatever you used to remove the old part). Be gentle when bending the gas lines. The pilot stayed lit after 30 seconds instead of 30 minutes!

Be patient and take your time.
Take your time and just watch that you have the tang under the burner in the slot. Do not bend the pilot light tube very close to the end. You will have a horrible time trying to straighten it to get the fitting on the end.

Part didn't work
We were advised to get this part to replace the current manifold door and pilot assembly. For some reason, once installed, the part wouldn't work. Outside of the water heater, it sparked just fine. Inside, nothing. So $99 spent for nothing.
