Routers help carpenters cut precision grooves and create finished edges in work pieces. When your router isn't cutting as it should, you'll likely need to replace some worn parts. Sears PartsDirect has the repair parts you need to fix any router problem.

How to maintain your router

  • Inspect cutting blades before each use. Keep cutting blades clean. Remove accumulated gum and pitch from blades after each use. Replace any worn cutting blades.
  • Clean the collet and collet nut regularly. Remove the collet nut from the collet and remove dust and wood chips that collect in the collet.
  • Inspect the power cord before each use. Replace the power cord if it's damaged.

Common router replacement parts

  • Switch. The switch turns the router on and off. Replace the switch if it fails to send current to the router motor when you flip the switch on.
  • Motor. The motor drives the spindle to spin the router blade. Replace the motor if it doesn't run when it gets current.
  • Chip shield. Replace the clear plastic chip shield on the front of your router if it's broken or damaged.
