Common drill driver replacement parts

• Motor brushes. Motor brushes mount against the rotating armature, transferring power to the armature. The motor brushes wear down after about 50 hours of run time. Replace the carbon brushes regularly to keep the motor running smoothly.
• Trigger. The trigger turns the drill driver on and off. Over time, contacts in the trigger wear out. Replace the trigger when it doesn't control the drill driver properly.
• Bearings. Bearings support the motor shaft. If the drill driver makes loud squealing noises or the drill driver vibrates excessively during use, it may be time to replace the bearings.

Troubleshooting your drill driver when it won't work at all

If your drill driver plugs into an electrical outlet, make sure the electrical outlet has power. Reset the house circuit breaker for the outlet is it doesn't have power. If the electrical outlet is okay, check the power cord. Replace the power cord if it's frayed or broken. If the power cord is okay, you may need replace the trigger switch.

If your drill driver uses a battery, make sure that the battery is fully charged. If the battery is okay, then the trigger switch may be at fault.
