Reasonably easy to install

You do have to be a little careful taking this part in and out, it's not easy to break or anything like that, but it is fit into the chassis quite tightly and requires some patience and looking at what is attached to what to get it in and out. That said, once you get the idea it's very easy. I had an issue with the original where after roughly 20 years of service, many of the buttons would not do anything when pressed. It turned out to be the ribbon cable attached to the original control panel, not the main control board. After 20 years, there were signs that the ribbon cable that connects this to the main control board had de-laminated just enough to get corrosion inside on 2 of the traces. Happy to get another 5-10 years of life out of this appliance for a fraction of replacement cost of a new washer, nothing else is very wrong with it outside of a little rust on the chassis here and there. I am truly appreciative that this part still existed and was in stock.

Kenmore dishwasher

The part i bought for my Kenmore dishwahser was the interface. My dishwasher did start to work again for another 2 cycles then it stopped working. Therefore I decided to have someone from sears come out to diagnose and repair it. The repair man said that the part I need is no longer manufactured and to just buy a new dishwasher. He was here for five minutes and the only solution offered was to buy a new dishwasher. He informed me that my dishwasher was outdated and parts are no longer made for it. If this was prior knowledge why did he proceed with the diagnoses. I feel like it was done solely for the purposes of Sears seeing another way to charge me knowing that repairs on this particular model where not possible. I am not satisfied with the diagnose or lack there of. So now I am out the $177 for the part and $89 for the home visit were nothing was done. I plan on taking my business elsewhere unless this can be rectified.

Misleading description

The controls on my dishwasher malfunctioned and I ordered a new part. I assumed that for $160 I would get the controls as well as the plastic panel. I was wrong. In addition, I found out the actual control is no longer available.
