They are easy to install
The tractor has 2 blades. This is a cover for one of the blades. The blades are attached via magnets and metal clip. This was a neat design when I bought the lawn tractor, but in practicality if you run over anything the covers can get knocked off. Then they can get chewed by the blades. In a normal yard this would not happen. I also take care of a retention pond which has stumps and rocks, so this is #3 replacement I've had to buy.

Must-have Exact Replacement Parts
I am so happy to have found these original equipment parts for the mower blades on my 2014 54 inch Craftsman Sears Mower. They must be installed to protect the latching mechanism for the blades, but with time and lots of heavy-duty mowing of a 10 acre property, they eventually deteriorate. They will come off and be ejected during mowing, quite unexpectedly. Fortunately, these exact-replacement parts can be fitted to the deck and should continue to operate as designed. I will continue to use Sears PartsDirect whenever I need additional parts for my hard-working garden tractor and mower.

Very bad idea
The most ridiculous thing I've ever seen for such a big mower deck! Plastic covers for blades?! We have gone through many and I'm sure will continue to do so. The first time we had sears come out and fix it and he made it so the darn things were so low they were dragging on the lawn! So we've been doing them ever since.
