Lid lock for my GE washer
I suspected the original lid lock failed (and stopped all motion in any cycle) because the "Lid Locked" indicator no longer lit up even when I could hear the mechanical lid locking. This GE replacement lid lock was a perfect fit. The hardest part of replacing the failed unit would be removing the washer top. Remove the two vertical hex head screws on the back of the control on each end. Lift the control section (plastic snap fits also hold it on) and remove two more vertical hex head screws holding the washer top to the side walls. The front of the washer top is held by snap fit parts. I used automobile trim tools (plastic wedges) to lift the front of the washer top. Pry between the washer top and the side walls. Screw drivers will also work but will chip the paint. The replacement part was a direct fit. It is a different style that looks more durable than the original. I think the original failed because a guest forced the locked lid open to add more items to wash.

Good OEM part
It was a good quality part and fit right in place. Since it was a superseded part, I did have to change one wire, but easy and no problem.
