This drive shaft and shifter assembly (part number AEN73131403) connects the washers motor to the washplate and shifts the drive system between agitate and spin functions.
If your washer wont spin, agitates unevenly, or makes grinding noises during cycle changes, the drive shaft or shifter may need replacement.
Unplug the washer before installing this part. Wear work gloves to protect your hands.

Medium difficulty
Make sure you have enough space to work. You will need to tip washer on its back. Easy enough install, but time consuming as there are a lot of fasteners to remove and install.

LG Washer Model #: WT5170HV Shaft/Shifter Install
Fairly straightforward if you take you time. It would be great if the torque specs were published somewhere, not just for the nuts on the assembly but for the other hardware as well.
