Easy to install but make sure it is needed

Easy to install but make sure there is not an issue with water lines being blocked or frozen. I installed but still could not get water to ice maker. I started checking all water line and found that I had a frozen line which I could not see. I used a hair dryer to clear and ice maker is working perfect. The valve was very easy to install and works great.

THE ONLY HARD PART WAS CRAWLING BEHIND REFRIGERATOR.

The part was exactly what I ordered, shipping took a little longer than I thought, but was fine. Turns out this wasn't the problem, so now need to order the actual ice maker. Ugh.

it only took me 5 minutes to make the repair. it took longer to shut the water off.

Required a little work

This valve was a direct replacement for the OEM valve in my refrigerator. I had to remove the kick panel on the bottom front of the fridge (2 screws), screw in the 2 stabilizing feet to clear the floor, pull the fridge forward away from the wall, unplug the fridge and turn off the water supply to the fridge, get behind the fridge and disconnect the water supply line (towel to soak up small amount of spilt water and handed water line to wife), remove lower panel (6 screws), cautiously vacuum years of accumulated dust off the fridge coils (optional), detach old valve from fridge cabinet (1 screw), disconnect the fridge wiring harness from the old valve, disconnect the other water line from the valve (requires effort), then install the new valve.

I received my replacement valve quickly, & it fit perfectly. Ice maker is working again. Hope fully the OEM LG part I received will last longer than the knockoff I got from another online site.
