New Water Inlet Valve fixed my problem

I had a new icemaker installed but still had the same (no ice) issues. This device installed quickly and relatively easily and we've (finally) been getting ice for several weeks now. That said, the device I was sent may have been a return: it had a inch or two of electrical tape wrapped around it, and what looked like a pen mark a few inches from the end. But, it's working so I'm happy.

No longer overfills ice tray

I purchased the water inlet valve because my ice tray was being overfilled with water, so the ice wouldn't drop, and the ice bin turned into a giant ice chunk from water overflowing the ice tray. This part was easy to install and worked great. I used the existing water line on the refrigerator that connects the valve to the ice maker to make installation easier.

SOLVED MY ISSUE

The inlet value took me about 30 minutes including the time to remove the back cover plate of the refrigerator (5 screws) and only 3 screws to remove the old inlet value. Only thing I discovered I had to additionally do was remove a good portion of the black foam wrap so the line would fit entirely in the opening. Much easier then I anticipated and saved me a service call and install charge by an appliance repair person.

Wonderful hearing ice dump again!

Very straightforward install. I was worried about line placement for the water going into the ice tray. Apparently, there is a direct, preformed slot that the water tube slides through. I destroyed the original valve, thinking the water line was removable--I wanted to check it for ice blockage. Nope, permanently affixed. So, ordered a replacement, which has the whole line attached. Part went into place and hooked up easily. About a 20 min. job. This was the 2nd valve I ordered. First one arrived with one of the wires broken out of the valve housing, probably from getting thrown. Sears Parts was wonderful and quickly sent me a replacement. It's great to have ice again.
