Not quite original
Install was relatively easy. Wiring was a little different from original, had to defrost ordinal whip in freezer and loop it around to take up 10-12' slack. Worked fine

Almost perfect
The part worked fine, except that it was missing the ice shutoff flap, and the included metal bar was incompatible with my existing shutoff flap. I had to put the old ice maker's metal bar and flap into this one, which worked fine. Replacement took about 15 minutes total.

Need notes for istallation. no directions include
because there was no notes with this item, I had to guess on some of the installation. The cable from my refrigerator plugged into the back of the motor/control part, but the replacement had a cable from that, and a socket to mate with the cable from the refrigerator. So, I first had to take out this cable, thinkgin it was for other installations, without the cable on my refrigerator. Then when I tried to put it in, it didn't mate. So, then, I had to put it back in, and start over. And, because the cable from the refer. had a stiff, right angle bend, I had to fight these cables, when trying to mount the unit. finally, got it in.

Don't expect any help.
I was told it would be a direct replacement, which means to me just plug it in. However, the replacement I had was equiped with a plug in cord as an adapter. When I called to ask about the extra thermistor and whether I needed to remove one, neither tech or sales would help me and tech was a little rude insisting I would have to schedule a tech to install. This is not the Sears I worked as a tech for years ago. We always tried to answer the customer's questions. I did make a decision to leave both thermistors and install it and it works.

Great fit and works great
It was an exact fit except for the wiring harness. It comes with one built into it. So I took the extra that I unplugged from my old one and it is in the back of the freezer. About a 5 minute change and fixed my problem. Plus the arm that came with it was longer, so I just reattached my old one. No big deal on that either.
