Unsnap the old and snap on the new. You Wil need cord or string to tie up the top of the washer or have somebody hold it up while working on it. Tape the lid shut.

The suspension springs on my washer had gone out and it was jumping all over the place during the spin cycle. That resulted in the tub ring getting damaged when it hit the outer frame of the washer. When I changed the suspension springs I also changed this to ensure I didn't have any water splashing out of the tub. Springs and tub ring both fit perfectly.
