Lawn Tractor 42-in Deck Mulching Blade 594892701

Worked poorly on fallen leaves.

I purchased this mostly to mulch leaves so that I did not need to rake them up. Did not meet my expectations. It essentially blew them out the side shoot just as they were. My previous Craftsman lawn tractor had a "flap" partially blocking the shoot so that the leaves "recycled" over the blades and really mulched the leaves. The current design did a very poor. Disappointed.

I have a 42" mower deck - 2 blades 21" ea. I ordered a 42" blade which should be 2 - 21" blades. I got 1 - 21" blade only. How stupid is this. Why would anyone order just 1 blade?

Swaping out blades

Blade replacement is very easy and can be done without removing the deck. Since I was replacing both belts I had to remove the deck anyway.

Works well with easy install but it was not as sharp as I keep my blades

The blade is marked 'Grass Side' so you'll know which side is to be faced down towards grass when installing.
