Defective

Let me start by saying my electric range is only 9 years old. The reason we bought a replacement element was because only the outside burner of a dual burner was working, not the inside. Now that we have installed the replacement element, we have an inside burner that works, but the outside burner does not. Also...2 other burners have stopped working since we installed the replacement product. We watched a video to make sure the element was installed properly. We had an appliance repairman come and look at the stove. He did not recommend replacing any more burners. So...not only are we out the money for the replacement burner but now we will be investing in a completely new stove. This is not what we had planned for the holiday season. We have learned our lesson...never purchase replacement parts and NEVER purchase GE appliances!!

I looked at the video and found it was an easy repair.

No Problem At All

There was no problem at all but then I didn't put it in my husband did! He turned off the power to the stove. Pulled out the old one, popped in the new & when he turned the power back on it worked great!

Part not direct replacement

Original part had inner and outer burrner. Replacement part had 3 burners, inner, center, and outer. I had an electrician friend make a jumper wire to connect inner and center burner to avoid hassle of returning part for correct part. Works fine now. Replacing burner is easy if wiring is OK.

was fairly easy to install

It was perfect, easier than I expected, to install. But, it took 2 people, since one has to hold the stove top up while the other one wrestles the old heating element out and carefully puts in the new one.
