Reviews
Wish it was the answer to my problem
I replaced the springs and shocks to eliminate a loud banging sound. Turned out a bearing grenaded and the basket was bouncing around inside the casing. Replacing the rear casing (bearing not available separately) and the basket (spindle not available separately) cost more than a completely new unit, which is what I ended up getting. Lesson learned.

Took Two of Us
These, along with the shock absorbers made a major improvement in the stability of the washer drum. Took two of us to change out the springs, one to support the drum while the other unhooked the spring/reset the new springs

Quick service
Replacing such a big spring took some engineering. A piece of strong wire and a Woden dowel as a handle worked great. With my husband standing on top of the washer to get leverage on the Spring

Low quality spring!
Took 2 people to install - one to hold the drum up and the other to insert the spring. 1 person might have been enough if the shock absorbers weren't also broken. Delivery was 1 day later than promised. Sears refunded the expedited shipping fee.
