How to maintain your BH Fitness treadmill

  • Before each use, check for loose, damaged or worn parts to protect yourself from injury and extend the life of your treadmill.
  • After each use, wipe your BF Fitness treadmill with a clean, damp cloth to remove sweat and dirt. Avoid excessive moisture around and on the console. Cleaning the treadmill after each use helps keep dirt and bacteria from building up on the machine.
  • Once a week, check the rollers for smooth operation. Sweep or vacuum under and around your treadmill to prevent dirt and dust from entering the machine at the base, the belt and around the platform. Thoroughly clean the machine with a damp cloth to remove any accumulated dirt or dust.
  • Once a month, check the screws and bolts and tighten if needed. Look at the belt’s alignment and tension. If you see any problems, follow the instructions in your owner's manual for aligning and tensioning the belt.
  • Once every three months or after every 25 hours of use, lubricate the walking belt with BF Fitness silicone-based lubricant. Even if you don't use the treadmill frequently, it's important to keep the belt from drying out. Check your owner's manual for detailed instructions.

How to fix a slipping belt on your BH Fitness treadmill

A damaged or loose walking belt slips on the front roller. A bad bearing on a roller can cause the roller to bind and the walking belt to slip.

Check both rollers to make sure that they spin freely. If a roller binds up because its bearing is bad, replace the roller.

Check the walking belt for tears and replace the belt if torn or damaged.

Check walking belt tension by lifting the middle edge of each side of the belt. On most BH Fitness treadmills, you should be able to lift the belt's edge up 2 to 3 inches above the walking board. Tighten belt tension if you can lift the edges of the walking belt more than 3 inches. Use the belt tension specification in the owner's manual for your BH Fitness treadmill if the tension specification differs from the above tension guidelines.
