Work area safety guidelines to follow when using your Sears reciprocating saw

• Work in a well-lit area so you can clearly see the work piece and the location of the saw blade.
• Make sure that your work area is well-ventilated. Don't operate your reciprocating saw in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust.
• Keep children and bystanders away from the work area when operating the saw. Distractions can cause you to lose control of the reciprocating saw.
• Wear work gloves to protect your hands and eye protection when using the reciprocating saw.

How to remove the blade on your Sears reciprocating saw

• Unplug the power cord or remove the battery from the saw. Wear work gloves to protect your hands while installing the blade.
• Allow the blade to cool if it's still hot from cutting a workpiece.
• Extend the adjustable/pivoting shoe away from the blade clamp.
• Push the blade clamp lever up with your thumb and hold it.
• Carefully pull the blade out of the blade clamp then release the clamp lever.
