ER IF error code fixed

I bought this to fix an "ER IF" error code on my Kenmore elite fridge model number 79578412800 that cause the ice dispenser and ice maker to stop functioning. This part is a motor and the fan. The picture here includes the white plastic covering, but when you do this repair you will need to pop open your existing white plastic cover and add the replacement motor and fan inside. I had a little trouble fitting the plastic electrical plug through the white plastic cover's existing hole, but I was able to expand the hole a bit with the use of a dremel.

Relatively easy to install

Some disassembly required freezer door/slides/panel, thank you for youtube video, replaced both ice & evap fan motors, replacement was easy but a little time consuming due to disassembly, It cured the "IF" error code, fridge/freezer still does not get cold enough, even with new controller board, may need to recharge refrigerant.

Shipped quickly but damaged

The part was delivered quickly however it was damaged. The part was shipped in a bag with no padding. One of the fins on the fan was broken off. Luckily it seems to work OK. I needed to get the refrigerator back up and running like normal so I didn't want to take the time to return it and wait for a new one. The installation went fairly easily - completed in about an hour.

The part ordered showed the fan with the housing. We received only the fan. Since the housing for our fan was broken and we didn't get a new one I had to glue the old one which caused the repair to take a lot longer.
