Stock replacement part from China
This is a stock replacement non-serviceable part. The part design is no different than anything else on this 2011-2012 garden tractor. Unlike my previous Craftsman 42" tractor everything about this one except the engine had been outsourced in this case to Husqvarna. I don't think the design engineers of Husqvarna ever mowed around trees and bushes in their yards as the tractor controls layout is far inferior to my previous Craftsman tractor. This steering linkage could have been designed to be serviceable and better engineered for long term durability. In my case I had roughly 10 years of moderate service from them as I had to replace all linkages and tie rod ends because they all began to fail and could not be serviced and wore out from metal on metal contact within the ball studs. I do give them some limited credit for making the design such that these linkages could be replaced. The only thing that required replacement on my previous 42" Craftsman tractor (1991-92) was the worn and rusting out mowing deck after 20 years!. The basic elements such as a 5 gallon gas tank under the seat and battery location inside the engine compartment are desirable attributes, but the parallels between those two tractors end there and so did the design and parts quality. If you require this part I would advise that you buy 2. This way you will have backup for when the first fails and also because of part availability. The parts are now made in China and you can expect "Very Long Term" Backorder status especially when you need this part during a busy mowing season. It is also advisable that you also order the replacement crown nuts as they are fine threaded locking nuts that also wear out as much as the ball studs do. I am grading my recommendations and review as if there are no other alternatives to fixing an existing tractor not on popularity.

About what I expected
I had the trouble getting the old link off. Needed to completely remove assembly and use a vice and heavy duty tools to separate the assembly and loosen the link nut. No trouble installing the new link itself. I had trouble re-aligning the steering bracket assembly around the brake/clutch shaft bushings. Needed a hammer and pry bar (screwdriver) to re-position shaft. TIP: Watch the instructional video first to see how to use a bungie cord to keep shaft in place. The steering seems slightly loose, but I don't think it's because of the link. I mowed my entire lawn with no steering problems.

Right price for what I needed
Purchased both drag links and they fit perfect. Also received them the same week! No instructions but easy to figure out.BTW there is no washers or nuts with it. Would give a 5 star but haven't used it yet.
