Shipment was very long and not as promised. Part was easy to install and looked to be from the manufacturer.

This part was a perfect match to the original part.

THANKS TO A VERY GOOD YOUTOBE VIDEO, I WAS ABLE TO MAKE THE REPAIR. I WISH THE REPAIR MANUAL WAS AVAILABLE IS SOME FORM, IE DOWN LOAD SINCE IT IS NOT AVAILABLE TO ORDER.

Installed in about 30 minutes, however in order to “pop the top” of the washer (not the lid), two plastic fastener clips were broken and will have to be replaced.

Using the instructions provided on the Sears Parts Direct website (https://www.searspartsdirect.com/diy/repair-guide/how-to-replace-the-lid-switch-in-a-direct-drive-top-load-washer), I was easily able to install the new washer lid switch. I recommend making some note of which screws came from the switch and which came from the control console. The hardest part was inserting the new wire harness tube under its clip.

installing and removing was quick once you tilt the drum it was easy.

The switch had become intermittent before this - leaving the load of water and laundry not draining. I had used zip ties to fix the casing of the switch and that worked for another few years. But now the lever on the switch broke off and so it needed to finally be replaced by a brand new $47 switch. I am amazed at how well these parts work, and how straightforward these washers are to fix – especially with YouTube and repair videos on the web. A fairly easy job, although I did have to undo and shift the housing of the washer to be able to get in there to attach the grounding wire and pop the plug up through the housing. And don’t forget to hang onto the 2 long switch screws because they do not come with the switch. But overall, an easy fix and I’m thrilled with how well it works with the new switch!
