Agitator dog set 80040 ratchets across the gear teeth in one direction and digs into the gear teeth in the opposite direction to create the agitation. The set contains 4 dogs.

The right part, good price, speedy delivery
The repair guy wanted to order a whole new agitator, so I googled it and saw how to check the agitator dogs. Easy fix for 13.00, including shipping. Ordered from another company first, bit it got lost and the reorder wasn't getting here any faster, so I came here and they worked.

Older but trusty Kenmore needed the Dog Agitators replaced. 3 of 4 were worn out! Hubby installed Thursday but we had to go out of town. Did laundry today! Back in business!

Right part, wrong picture
I ordered these just in case the agitator cam set that I also purchased wasn't the right one. This was also a bit of a guess, because the picture doesn't match what the product actually looks like. As it turns out, they are the same as what came with the agitator cam set, which was the right one, so now I have extra dogs if something should happen to the replacement set. Replacement of the dogs requires the same amount of effort as replacing the agitator cam, so it made sense for me to replace the whole thing since my washer is 29 years old. If you have a newer model and are confident the plastic cam body is fine, then this should work fine.
