Ice container

I had to drill holes in each side of the new container so the electric eye level would see through and the parts diagram shows no handle so I bought an extra handle thinking it didn't have one, so I have an extra $44 handle/latch, other then that works great!

Part does not match the image

The part does not have the slots for the electric eye to detect the need for more ice, so ice maker will not dump any ice because it thinks the bin is full. The part was wrong, and I had to drill holes for the electric eye to see through the bin.

NOT Functional Without Drilling Holes in Bin

This fits BUT the ice the bin keeps filling and does not stop due to not being the exact same as original. The old one has cutouts on each side so that the sensors can detect when bin is full. The new one does not have these cutouts and results in icemaker continuing to make ice forever and causing other issues. For the price of this part, it should fit & work as it should.

Won't fit

Ice container sent didn't have holes on the side like the original part so I had to drill holes in the new part to make it work.

ice container

the correct photo and part number is on the website but have received the incorrect part 2 times. major problem. original part has slots on both sides of ice container to allow electric beam to pass through so ice production can continue. once ice has gotten to the height of the electric beam it will stop producing ice until it lowers by consumer use. concerned to return and reorder and would receive to same incorrect product. i was assured by sales person on internet it IS the correct one in stock and would be shipped ASAP. Same problem.

Wrong Part:not the same as pictured/not compatible

This is a hard part to find and expensive. The website says this part is compatible with my model fridge but it is not. Notice in the pictures that there is a notch on either side of the one on the right (original...notice rust as well, it's why I ordered new part). Anyway, those notches are needed so that the sensor "sees the other side" which is on/off switch, much like your garage doors safety sensors work. The new part, on the left, doesn't have these notches. Took me the better part of two days trying to figure this out thinking it was my new water filter I installed, or something more sinister! Will be returning..
