Easy to install but not working correctly.

This is the detergent and softener dispenser for our LG washer. It arrived well packaged and was very easy to install. However, there always seems to be left over detergent and/or water in the detergent side of the dispenser tray. I do not think it should be doing this. The original tray did not. We had to replace the original tray because someone in the family...read child...repeatedly put bleach in the softener side causing it to crack.
