Easy and quick to install
Removed a set up hex nuts, unplugged the old switch, plugged in the new one, then screwed the hex nuts back in. Started up like a charm.

I didn't get the harness
When ordering the switch I should have been told that the switch didn't have a harness made on it, like the original one, nor was I told I had to order it separately, I had to wait for the switch to be delivered, which to about a little over 2 weeks, now it's been over 2 weeks & I still don't have the harness, so that's over a month without the Lawnmower

New switch is different than original
If your smart switch has wiring pigtails molded into the back as pictured, the switch has been superseded to a newer version without pigtails molded into it. Ordering the original switch will goto a new part number 586836702 and requires an adaptive pigtail harness between the new switch and the wiring harness. The adaptive pigtail part number is 585848901. I too had extensive troubles trying to resolving the issue of replacing the switch and having it attach to the wiring harness of the mower. Once the adaptive wiring pigtails was finally resolved through Sears supplier, this new switch worked wonderfully. The new pigtail is not noted in Sears system, they had no knowledge of this from their supplier. Hope this helps to clear up the issue.

wrong parts sent
Over all absolutely sucked. Trying to deal with over seas call center that all 6 people I talked to could hardly speak American. They read off a script and don't know what you are trying to tell them. They don't know how to get you the right part. Delt with it for 2 weeks and git 2 of the same wrong parts sent to me till I gave up. Now I'm hoping I get my $230 back. The part they send is NOT the part in pic and description and 1st one didn't even have the correct part number on it.

Ignition switch repair
The part you sent is supposedly a replacement for the original which was discontinued. The new part will not fit. The mower is now at a repair shop where they are trying to get the RIGHT part via the internet? The part is from your vendor but I bought the mower from Sears and you tell me there's nothing you can do to help me?? By the way, the mower which is only 4 years old also has a major oil leak from the rear hydraulic unit. Great craftsmanship??
