Most common Dacor warming drawer parts that need replacing

  • Heating element. The heating element keeps the food warm in the drawer. Replace the heating element if it's broken or doesn't heat properly.
  • Thermostat. The thermostat senses the warming drawer temperature and cycles the heating element on and off to maintain the set temperature. You may need to replace the thermostat if the element never turns on.
  • High-limit thermostat. The high-limit thermostat prevents your Dacor warming drawer from overheating. If the warming drawer doesn't heat, check the high-limit thermostat for continuity using a multimeter. Replace the high-limit thermostat if the meter measures no continuity through the high-limit thermostat.

How to troubleshoot a Dacor warming drawer that won't heat

Check the house circuit breaker for the warming drawer. Reset the house circuit breaker if it tripped.

If the house circuit breaker isn't tripped, disconnect electrical power to the warming drawer and check continuity through the heating element using a multimeter. Replace the heating element if the multimeter measures no continuity through the element.

If the element is okay, check for continuity through the thermostat. Replace the thermostat if the meter measure no continuity through the thermostat.

If the thermostat is okay, check for continuity through the high-limit thermostat and replace the high-limit thermostat if the meter measure no continuity.

If the heating element, thermostat and high-limit thermostat are all okay, a wiring failure is likely preventing the warming drawer from heating. Find and repair the wiring failure.
