Troubleshooting your Porter Cable hammer drill when it won't start

• Check the electrical outlet for power. Reset the house circuit breaker for the electrical outlet if it's dead.
• Check the power cord for damage. Repair any broken power cord wires or replace the power cord if it's damaged.
• Check to see if the motor overload switch is tripped. Reset the overload switch if it's tripped.
• Unplug the hammer drill and check the trigger switch for continuity using a multimeter. Replace the trigger switch if the meter measures infinite resistance through the trigger switch will the trigger pulled
