Proper personal protective equipment to wear when using your Lincoln welder

  • Use a proper welder helmet with a filter and cover plate to protect your eyes and face from sparks and arc rays when using the welder.
  • Always wear safety goggles with side shields when in a welding area.
  • Wear oil-free protective garments, proper leather boots and welder gloves when welding.
  • Wear a proper safety harness when working above the floor to protect yourself from a fall.

Troubleshooting your Lincoln welder when it won't power up

  • Check the circuit breaker for the power supply outlet that you're using for the welder. Reset the breaker if it's tripped.
  • If the welder still won't power up, unplug the power cord and check the power cord for damage. Replace the power cord if it's damaged.
  • Check the power cord wiring connections to the welder. Reconnect any loose power cord wires.
  • Check for continuity through the power switch using a multimeter. Replace the power switch if the meter measures infinite resistance through the power switch with the switch in the on position.
