How to fix your Kenmore bottom-mount refrigerator when you see the Er IF error code

The Er IF error code means that the control board detects a problem with the ice room fan.

1. Unplug the refrigerator and safely store foods from the refrigerator and freezer.

   Remove the freezer trays and pull off the freezer door. Remove the evaporator cover and check the wiring connections on the ice room fan. Reconnect any loose wires.

2. If ice room fan wiring connections are okay, check for ice buildup around the ice room fan blades and defrost any ice build-up.
3. If you find no ice build-up around the ice room fan blades, you'll likely need to replace the ice fan.
