If you see Er If on your refrigerator, it means you have a very specific problem. Sometimes, when moisture builds up in your refrigerator, it can short out your freezer's ice fan. The ice fan blows air through ducts in the door to cool the icemaker compartment.
Unfortunately, when the ice fan shorts, it usually damages components in your refrigerator’s main electronic control board, too. You’ll need to replace both parts to resolve the issue. This video from Sears PartsDirect shows how to fix the problem if your refrigerator is displaying an Er If error code.
