Just what we needed to make ice again
This was my second attempt at fixing the no ice issue from our ice maker. The fridge we have, had been in the house we bought since we moved in (2 years ago) and the ice maker hadn't been functioning. Tried changing the water valve behind the fridge but that wasn't the issue so the next step I took was the ice maker kit itself. I installed it shortly after receiving it and held the reset button for 5 seconds until it made a beep sound and waited in hopes for it to solve our problem. I thought it would take less than an hour for it to work but that wasn't the case. after waiting some time, I began to lose hope and thought it wasn't going to work but after having waited about 3-4 hours, I heard a sound from the fridge. It was the ice falling into the ice bucket! It worked! I was so relieved and happy that the mystery had been solved. For anyone who has water running through their fridge but no ice being made, this could be the problem. Our ice maker was dry and had no hint of ice in there. When pressing down on the ice dispenser it would function but there was no ice to be dispensed (unless you filled the bucket manually). If you have this problem and you've tried all the easy steps first to no avail (resetting the ice maker, checking your water is turned all the way on, etc.) then this is the way to go if those steps didn't work.

Not the service I expect from Sears
1. Your automated system sent the incorrect part for the model Ref that I have. 2. When I talked to Customer Service the agent argued with me that you had sent the part for my Ref model. I finally convinced them to send the PN I wanted! 3. Part arrived without install instructions nor a link where I could find the instructions. 4. I installed the unit - it took 2 days before it stated working - would have been nice if there had been a note that it would take that long to get up and running. 5. There was not return label to send bad part back for recycle.

Easy to Install
The replacement item arrived within three days of being ordered. In order to install, we had to remove a panel that was holding in the ice machine. Once that was removed, we simply disconnected the old one from the refrigerator, slid the ice maker out, slid in the new one, reconnected to the refrigerator, replaced the panel and finally held the test/reset button to begin ice production again. The entire process took about less than 20 minutes. Within two hours, we had our first ice cubes!
