Solution to a Problem

The product was a good, quality product. It is a little difficult to snap back into place but I used a PVC pipe about 12 inches long and 3/4 inch diameter. I threaded it over the steering shaft and down onto the bushing. I then gently tapped the PVC pipe with a mallet and the bushing locked into place. Making sure the notch on the bushing was lined up with the notch on the chassis. It worked perfectly!

Steering column bushing

I am very happy with this actual part, however, I am required to dissassemble the steering column shaft in order to install the part. I have not been able to do this and I am still researching on the internet to find out how.

My Model #917203900 Craftsman tractor parts list states my steering bushing is #195228. It is wrong. The correct part is Husqvarna 532195227 Steering Bushing which has a larger diameter.
