Replacement is simple with some patience

While at first it seems like a lot of disassembly is needed to replace this part, all it takes is removing both wheels, the deck raising arm, tension springs, and the part itself. Take off the bolt on either side and then wiggle it forward to snake it around the gas tank and a few electrical cables. It's a bit of a puzzle at first, but once you get it the part will come right out. I fashioned a hook out of heavy wire to release and re-tension the main springs, which made that job much easier.
