Valve body cover 7085263 attaches over the valve body to cover the rotor and disc and seal the top of the valve body.
Disconnect electrical power and turn off the water supply to the water softener before replacing this part. Wear work gloves to protect your hands.

Exact fit, no second guessing if its the right par
My Kenmore water softener had a leak (crack) on the valve cover. I did a search online using the model number of the softener and Sears Parts Direct had the diagram with reference to the part. I also purchased the o ring for the cover. Parts arrived on time, installed the new OEM parts and leak disappeared. Having the OEM diagram and description of the part online with ability to purchase is always my first choice to get it right the first time.

but watch for any parts that may shift or fall out. Need one about every 8-10 years due to the plastic cracking and leaking.

Very easy to install
Only takes 10 minutes and a screwdriver to replace the cap, but I took extra time to relube all the o-rings with water proof grease while I had the cap off
