Sears had the part and I fixed it myself.
The repair shop I called said the part wasn't available and tried to sell me a used washer instead of fixing mine. Sears had the part, and it literally took me 10 min to make the repair myself.

does not fit my machine
this product does not fit the original machine I have, whirlpool has made the part better by adding a metal insert but it does not fit my older machine that works but needs a new wash plate, therefore I now need a new washer :(
