Wrong part

Despite assistance from the chat agent, who assured me the part I needed was in the schematic, it was not the correct part. Further, I later learned the part is no longer made. Why a trim piece at the rear of the stovetop is available but not the front is a mystery. The front gets the wear and worn off finish. Also, an actual conversation might have avoided some aggravation if not the unresolved problem.
