Reviews

It fit perfect
July 27, 2021

It took me around 30 minutes to install Reason for the length of time is the mounting holes I had to tap the holes original bolts would not fit. Our Riding mower is a 12 year old Craftsman 42" deck

Hard to select.
June 22, 2020

I could not see how to select the part that was in the schematic. Using the number that pointed to the part didn't work in the search, and I could never have guessed its name was Idler Arm.

No threads for screws!
September 23, 2019

It was useless to me without the threads in the holes to allow screwing in of the two screws. Is this an oversight or deliberate? I bought three as the spring rips through the mental arm (another flaw) so was preparing by buying enough to correct future problems. Unfortunately none of them had threaded holes to put the screws in. A big disappointment.

Craftsman Lawn Tractor idler arm replacement
July 07, 2018

My idler arm pivot spacer elongated the blade idler arm hole and needed to be replaced. It was causing the brake pads not to fully disengage and wore them out. Removal of the mower assembly is a 10 minute job and the idler arm and pads took approx. 30 minutes which included connecting the cable and making sure the pads were away from the blade pulleys. My 2011 lawnmower has held up nicely.

Straightforward job but part could be of better qu
May 08, 2018

Took about 1hr to install; problem is that the clutch engagement spring tears through the hole in the arm over time due the tension placed when the clutch is engaged to run the mower blades. This is the third time I have had to replace this arm in 10 yrs. If it was a forged part it would not be an issue.
